How can we fix that
Why Acrobat cannot connect to the Review Server if it was working before? I can't see comments at all. I have a Mac Pro with Yosemite
Saving checked Comments in Acrobat
Hello,
In my firm we have the following problem: We would like to check the comments in Acrobat so everybody else in the firm can see whether the comment has been read or not. The problem is that when I check comments an save it and a different client opens the document, the checkmarks have not been saved. Is there a special option I need to change in the settings that I can save the checkmarks and other clients can see them or is it simply not possible to do this in Acrobat?
Thanks in advance,
Nils
Text Comments disappearing
When using Acrobat (version: DC 18.009.20050 with Windows 10) I can't see my text comments once I click elsewhere. The comments still appear on the Commenting panel, but are not visible on the page. I have tried both the "Add text comment" and "Add text box" methods without success. The worst part is that this issue has followed me to my new computer from my last one! Does that mean the issue is tied to my profile in my cloud account? Does anyone know how to reset my commenting preferences back to the default?
Thank you,
~Kristine
Acrobat CC: comment name change
For commenting on Acrobat CC, how do I change the commenting name from my log-in name to another, more user-friendly name? I tried unchecking the list, but my login name still appears. thank you for any help.
Where has the check box gone?!
I have just updated to Acrobat Pro CC 2009.008.20071 and now when I bring up a list of comments on a PDF design file there is no longer a check box to tick off changes as I go. I used to filter by unchecked comments to keep track of what fixes had been actioned. The check box is no longer there.
There are more approval options (completed/apprvoed/add check box etc) in the hamburger dropdown but that is surely not the process for checking off each edit?!
I have identified a temporary (but less good) workaround - (shift + k) which ticks the corner of the box but it doesn't then take you to the next comment as occurred previously, meaning that you need to click on the next one. This actually slows down workflow significantly in a graphic design setting where changes are actioned at speed and timed/. I have read in other forums that some designers used to press the space bar to tick and move to the next change to be even faster. @

How can you retain highlights when you replace a sheet?
I work with multi-sheet plans sets and need to replace revised sheets when they are issued, but do not want to loose highlighted items from sheet that has been revised..
How to prevent comment list from opening every time I click on a previously made comment?
This didn't happen before, but recently everytime I clicked on a textbox or try to fix a shape made using the drawing tool the comment list will open on the side. Is there a way to stop it from opening?
Thanks
switch between accounts
I made a general acrobat dc account at work where I process bills, then my boss accesses that account to approve and sign the bills.
But he has his own acrobat dc account also.
Instead of logging in and out of the two accounts every time bills are to be approved, is there a way to make two different shortcuts, one that opens each account?
Or, the best solution would be if I could share these bill files and folders with his other account.
Thanks for the help!
how to change log in name? - can't edit the text field
I'm a new employee working at the computer of someone who is no longer at the company. I need to make comments that are identified with my name, but I am unable to edit the Login Name text field in the Identity Category that has the previous employee's name. I've recently updated to Acrobat Pro XI on a Mac 10.8.5 and was having the same issue with Acrobat Pro X.
The Preferences>Identity widow tells me:
"To change settings for Adobe online services, go the the Online Services preference and click Manage Account."
I am automatically logged in with my correct information at Adobe.com and don't see anything under Manage Account that allows me to change the Login Name of the previous user.
Someone at Adobe told me I have to change the login name of my computer and then that Login Name will reflect that information. So I changed the login name on my computer and restarted the computer and the Login Name in Acrobat is still wrong and still cannot be changed.
I've uninstalled all previous versions of Acrobat, but that didn't help, either.
Is there a screen at Adobe.com that I'm just not seeing? Or is there some window in the application I'm not seeing? Or is it something else?
I'd greatly appreciate any help.
Thank you.

Add Text Comment toolbar missing
I recently had my computer updated for work. Since the update, when I use the "Add Text Comment" feature, I do not get the Add Text Comment Toolbar. I cannot format the text because of this. How can I get the toolbar to show up?
Can I change the default textbox size?
I use textboxes a lot for entering part numbers and the default size in Acrobat 7 was perfect - about 7 characters wide. I'm now using Acrobat DC and the width of the textbox is larger, perhaps 15-20 characters wide. Is there a way to change this?
I've formatted the textbox the way I want and saved it as the default, but it only saves the colors and font, not the width or height.
Additionally, the text box appears below and to the right of where I click the mouse to insert it. Is this normal? I can get used to it but it is a bit annoying.
copy paste problem in comments - Acrobat Pro DC
Dear Adobe guys,
Since Acrobat pro DC (if I remember...) I am unable to copy text from a comment in Acrobat Pro DC to paste it for example InDesign CC17.
I've discovered that if I let my cursor over the comment when I copy (Cmd+C) the selected text remain and then I can Copy the comment to paste it in InDesign.
If I select the text and then immediately move my cursor to the InDesign window while I hit the Cmd+C command, The selection disappear and then the Copy command doesn't work
It makes me loose time at a level you don't imagine!!!!
half second + half second + ... after 1000 comments or more makes me loose hours and hours!!! Just because of this stupid bug !!!!
I'm a Creative Cloud Member, so please Adobe, do something to correct that !
I've never had this issue before...

Keep Stamp Selected
I'm using Adobe Acrobat Standard DC and I don't see a way to keep stamp selected. Each time I want to use the stamp I have to first select it from the Stamp Palette. Is there a way to keep it selected, or do I need a different version of Acrobat in order to do this. If so, what version? Thanks.
How to use the acrobat URL Protocol?
I see that acrobat has registered the acrobat url protocol on my (Windows 10) machine.
I've tried creating hyperlinks on web pages with urls like:
acrobat:|c:\mydoc.pdf
acrobat://c:\mydoc.pdf
acrobat://c:/mydoc.pdf
acrobat:c:/mydoc.pdf
...etc.
In most cases, clicking the links DOES cause Acrobat to open, but it gives me a "The file name of directory name syntax is incorrect" message.
Does anyone know how to format URL to use the acrobat URL Protocol and have it actually open the document? I assume it must work if they bothered to register the protocol in the registry!
...of course I'd REALLY like it to work with a web address rather than a local file path, but, per my other question, I doubt that will be working any time soon!
Thanks,
Chris
Embedding PDF with Hyperlinks into Outlook
Apologize if this has been asked a million times.
I have a PDF I've created through Word with hyperlinks and I would like to embed it into Outlook and send out as a communication piece, however when I insert the PDF into the body of the email the PDF just shows up as one file and the links are not clickable. Is there anyway to accomplish this? I know the hyperlinks work correctly because if you open the file on it's own the links work .
Thank for your help
Why does Reader DC override default "Use Acrobat Pro" to open pdf files?
Had to install Reader DC to open some online pdf files. Already have Acrobat Pro. After installing Reader DC, and despite repeated "use this app to open pdf files" set to Acrobat Pro, Reader DC overrides that setting. Seems so many new versions of programs ... like, for instance, Windows 10 ... are programmed by nerds who seem to think they know more about what a user wants than the user does. Now sites are offering pdf files that require Reader DC to open them, but that version now seems to have the "to heck with what you want to do" attitude. I want Acrobat Pro set as my default app to open pdf files. How do I do this? And, Adobe, why do you think you know better than I do about what I want? < Nothing new, by the way; I have had to do workarounds to make script processing in PhotoShop because it overrides my choices for target folders, and your techs had no clue how to fix it.
Why do comments in comments list disappear when file is saved after a signature is added?
When working with a workpaper file we are using sticky notes, highlight, adding text to annotate a file. Then later we go back and add "place initials" by things that we verify either have been done or the workpapers support that statement. Upon saving the file before adding the initials the file name is XXXX.pdf and the 110 comments I've made in the file are listed in the comments list. Then when I add my initals the file name changes to XXXX-signed.pdf and the 110 comments I've made are still present, but not viewable in the comments list nor when I click on the sticky note is the information in the note viewable. Why would this information disappear? How do I get it back?
If there is no fix for this Adobe...this is a great reason for my bosses to decide not to spend the thousands of dollars it's going to cost us to buy and implement your software throughout our firm. We need to retain the comments on a workpaper file as well as be able to inital and sign our workpapers. Many people work in a single workflle and putting our intials next to an item tells the reviewer that not only did we see the comment from the client, but we also double checked to make sure the inforamtion was input into the system and included in the workpapers farther back in the file.
Any help from the user community would be apreciated.

Selecting multiple objects
There does not appear to be a simple way to select multiple objects without having to use ctrl+ and mouse click every little tiny line and object. Why does the select tool not allow you to draw a box around objects you want selected so that you can move them or do whatever with them? Is there a tool or way of doing this?
