Print a PDF so that comments appear

$

I used Actobat 9 Pro to create a portfolio containing PDFs, which I set up to enable comments. I then used Acrobat 9 Reader to open several PDFs and created comments. I emailed the portfolio to my workmate who also made comments.

We can see both sets of comments in the PDFs, identified with out user names - which is great.

However, if I print the PDFs, the comments do not appear. Are they only visible on-line? is there any way to print them, with their context in the PDF?

Regards,

Sue.

I have a large file of 1000pages that I now need numbered. I can't see /find how to do this. When I use 'Number Pages' it numbers not the actual pages but the navigator pages (the thing at the top) - I need the pages numbered. Any help I much appreciated.

Why can I no longer add hollow (no fill) shapes in Acrobat Pro DC when I am using the Commenting tool to add shapes and text boxes?

I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC (Version 2018.009.20050) on a Mac Mini running macOS High Sierra (Version 10.13.2) and I used to be able to use the Comment tool to add shapes to drawings and reports...I used to insert the shape, and then I was able to go to properties, and when I would click on the Fill Color, there was an option/check box to make it transparent. That option is no longer there and I don't know why it just disappeared. Now when I try to insert a circle to show an area, it just covers up what I'm trying to circle and there's no way for me to remove the fill color (I can only change it to be a different color). ??? Please help! This is so irritating!!

Text Comments disappearing

When using Acrobat (version: DC 18.009.20050 with Windows 10) I can't see my text comments once I click elsewhere.  The comments still appear on the Commenting panel, but are not visible on the page. I have tried both the "Add text comment" and "Add text box" methods without success. The worst part is that this issue has followed me to my new computer from my last one!  Does that mean the issue is tied to my profile in my cloud account?  Does anyone know how to reset my commenting preferences back to the default?

Thank you,

~Kristine

exporting comments into excel spreadsheet

Hi All... I need to find some way to export my comments into an Excel spreadsheet. Any help out there?

BACKGROUND = For our document reviews, I have the reviewing team leave feedback in a pdf version of the document, I import all comments received from their seperate files into a single "comment master," then I post that 'comment master" for the authors to work with during the comment resolution period.

ISSUE = For the comment resolution part, the authors want to go back to the old Excel spreadsheet method for comment collection that we had used before, because they find managing the feedback is too hard in Adobe.

~ If I could export the full comment summary into Excel, I might be able to have the best of both worlds.  There's got to be a way to do this, right?... even if it's a two-step process, I'd still really like to hear your ideas. ~

Thanks so much!!!

Shared PDF document review

Hi everybody,

I'm using Acrobat X Professional and would like to try out the shared PDF document review via acrobat.com

However, when I choose "send for shared review" I cannot select "acrobat.com", I can only choose an internal server. Already checked the preferences and tried a new installation, but nothing changed.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Change Author Property for Sticky Note

  • Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit
  • Adobe Acrobat XI Pro

I want to change my name from "Kevin" to "Kevin Stecyk" as the author on my Sticky Notes.

I have tried opening the Annotations Panel and right mouse clicking on the Sticky Note. Unfortunately, "Kevin" is in gray and can't be changed.

When I create a Sticky Note, I can right mouse click on the Sticky Note and change my name to Kevin Stecyk. However, on the next note, I am back to just Kevin. I can even change my name and select "Make Properties Default". Again, once I create a new Sticky Note, I am back to just Kevin.

How do I change the author property for Sticky Note (and others) and have that change stick?

(URGENT!) Acrobat Pro DC - Shared Review - Can't access server

(Using 2015 Release (Continuous) | Version 2015.023.20070 on both machines)

Started using shared reviews a couple of weeks ago, everything was going fairly well.

I have two computers that I use (desktop, notebook) that I use to create reviews.

The server location for the reviews is on my customer's network, which I access via VPN.

Several days ago, Acrobat Pro DC stopped connecting to the server on my desktop, but not on my notebook. In Tracker (on the desktop), the Status area for each of my shared reviews indicates "Error: Could not get new comments. Adobe Acrobat DC did not get a response from the server. Try again later or contact your system administrator."

I *can* navigate (with Explorer) to the server location for the reviews.

If I try to create a *new* review, the Create Shared Review status dialog appears, displays "Creating shared folder on smb://.../TechPubReviews/ ("..." is the path on the server), and stalls. Options are to Retry and Cancel. Retry does the same thing.

  • Any ideas why one machine (desktop) has this problem, but not the other (notebook)?
  • If I remove the server location from Edit>Preference>Tracker, can I re-add it (don't remember how I created it in the first place), and what will that do to the existing reviews? (Will I still be able to access them?)

Any help (soon, I hope) would be greatly appreciated! (It was hard enough to convince them to let me try out the shared reviews, and I can't afford to lose track of things so soon :-( )

Why do I not have the option to highlight text in a pdf?

I just want to mark up a copy of my bank statement. The fact that it is a secured document disables all kinds of usability. I'm doing my taxes the way I always have, but your updates and changes are making this app completely useless.

I think my highlighter is running out of ink.

Morning,

I have several textbooks in pdf format. I like the the highlighter but all of a sudden the highlighting function has gone from a dark yellow to a very light yellow. I don't know what I've done or how to fix it.

I'm technology challenged - technology and I don't get along very well - I need extreme directions to fix whatever it is that I messed up!

Thank you so much for any and all help.

How to open pop-ups and keep Comments List closed?

$

When I annotate a document, I turn on the Comment app so that my frequently used tools will stay available in the toolbar at the top of the screen; however, I also prefer to keep the Comments List closed and use the annotation pop-ups for commenting when necessary instead. So I was annotating a document this way just now, as I do every single day, when all of a sudden, whenever I double-clicked on an annotation to open its pop-up, the Comments List would open instead of a pop-up. This functionality changed right while I was in the middle of annotating as I always do. I didn't change anything on my end, as far as I know. I certainly didn't tinker with the preferences. What happened??? I can't find a fix for this problem anywhere. Please help!!

Creating a shared folder review hangs on Windows 10/Acrobat DC

I have a new laptop, Windows 10 with Acrobat DC installed through Creative Cloud. On this new system, I cannot send shared reviews that use a network folder. When I attempt to, the system gets stuck on "Status: Creating shared folder" with the network path and gives me options to Retry or Cancel. The solution given at https://forums.adobe.com/message/9434598#9434598 did *not* work in my case.

Changing Callout Default Properties

I am using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and keep changing the properties for the line color around the calloutbox and saving the change as the default. The change is saved if I open another callout box in that same document but if I close the document or open a new one, the callout box properties revert to the old properties that I don't want. I am running Windows 7 if that makes any difference. If anyone has encoutnered this problem and has a solution, please advise. Thank you.

How can I make a sticky note stay open?

I'm using Acrobat X Pro on a large screen under 64-bit Windows 7 to read PDF scientific journal articles.  I regularly add highlighting (with comments) and sticky notes.  I would like the sticky notes to stay open because my screen has lots of room to display them.  Although sometimes I can get sticky notes to stay open, more often than not they close.  What steps can I take to make a sticky note stay open?

Thanks for your help,
