Combining comments from multiple shared reviews or other pdfs into one pdf.

I am using Acrobat X to create my shared reviews. Recently, my SMEs want a way to see comments from previous review without having to open my last shared review together with an updated version to review comments in both. What do I need to do this? Do I need some extended version of Acrobat in order to import comments from various PDFs? Is there an add on to the Acrobat X? We are moving to the newest Tech Comm Suite that has Acrobat XI. Will this version have this capability or does it mean I need to buy another version of Acrobat? Help....

When I use Paste Clipboard Image as stamp tool I cannot resize the image.

I add an image as a release stamp to our .pdfs. Normally I can re-size the image to fit what I need.  Sometimes it works fine and I can resize the image.  Other times I cannot.  I have used "control-V" to paste.  I have used paste clipboard image as stamp - and sometimes it works and sometimes it does not.  I have not been able to find an consistency in when it does or does not let me resize.  Thank you!

Acrobat 11 VERY slow

This is weird. My new ultra-skookum Powerbook with 16 GB of RAM and a 512 GB flash drive almost grinds to a 1989 snail's pace while doing some basic markup in Acrobat 11. You click on something and 5 seconds passes before it is selected. Moving callout boxes is a jumping-all-over-the-page affair. Any ideas?

Text Edit Tool icon missing in Acrobat Standard X

Hi,

In Acrobat 8 Standard, when I click "Text Edit Tool" icon, I can start insert, delete or replce text comments without re-click any  "insert", "delete" or "replace" icon in the Text Edit Tool until I press"Esc" key.

I just install Acrobat Standard X these days, It moved the commenting annotation to the right panel with those fancy icons.  Looks great!  However, I have to click on the "Insert", "delete" or "replace" icon on every action.  I am wondering if Acrobat remove the great feature or I am missing something?

p.s.  Just found ouy it is called "Text Correction Markup" in Acrobat Reader XI.  I can't image paid Acroabat Standard X has less feature than Acrobat Reader XI.  Hopefully, Adobe can have a Update to add the "accidentally removed" feature back to Standard X.

Thanks

Hi, getting frustrated at the annoying comment pop ups that I get every time I use the highlight tool.  Occasionally I want a comment, but 99% of hte time I just want to highlight the text. Is there some way I can turn the automatic comment box off so the highlighter doesn't do this?

thanks in advance

Highlight Map

I know this has been asked before but none of the discussions ever ended in an answer.  Seems there must be some way to highlight the area of a map.  I create maps with lot borders and aerial views and want to highlight the lot.  I tried creating a rectangle but there does not seem to be a fill option.

A custom counting stamp.

I can create a custom dynamic stamp, and I can edit that stamp.  What I want the stamp to do is function like a real world mechanical counting stamp.  Where each time you use the stamp it imprints a number, the next time it prints the next number in sequence and so on.

So, I created a background GIF image and created the PDF file in the user profile directory, then when editing the file place a text form field where I want the counting to start and set its custom calculation script to

          event.value = "Item #  " ;

what I need to work out now is how the java script will define and read the value form somewhere.  Ideas on where would be welcome at this point.  Once the vale is accessible to the java script add it to my “Item #  “ then add one to the count and update my stored value.

Nothing happen when I click on 'Change Deadline' in Tracker

Hello,

I have a problem with the 'change deadline' function in Tracker.

When I click on it to update a deadline for a shared review, nothing happen.

The weird thing is the reviews that don't let me update the deadline have a 'http' path whereas some of my other reviews -with a path to my local drive- do let me update the deadline. (I'm not sure why my reviews have different paths in the first place since I use the exact same method to create shared reviews)

I know the workaround trick (save an archive copy and send it for review) but I'm wondering if there's a fix to this problem.

Thanks

Shared review deadlines are not always saved

Since we upgraded to Acrobat 11, I have noticed that the deadlines I set for new shared reviews are not always saved. When I check the review later, I see that it has no deadline set even though I did set a deadline when I sent the shared review.

The document is saved to a network location, not the Adobe site. I have not been able to pinpoint when this happens since sometimes the deadline seems to be saved and sometimes it does not. What makes the problem more frustrating is that if I go to add a deadline later, the program insists on emailing someone. This is not necessary since I also included the deadline in the text body of the original shared review email, so I have it email the change to me only to avoid confusing my reviewers.

Has anyone else encountered this problem, and if so, is there a workaround or a fix?

Thanks,

Tammy P.

Why can't I markup text in PDF-A in Acrobat X?

I am using Acrobat Pro X. I have a PDF file (Version 1.4, Acrobat 5.x, created Dec. 2009). When I open the file, I see the message, "The file you have opened complies with the PDF/A standard and has been opened read-only to prevent modification."

I want to markup it up--highlight, comment, underline and so forth. I cannot do this. The Tools are grayed out and, as the message says, the file is read-only. It is an unsecure file (No Security). The file creator swears this should not be the case and the file should be accessible to me. Is there something wrong with Acrobat Pro X or is there a compatibility issue?

Changing Callout Default Properties

I am using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and keep changing the properties for the line color around the calloutbox and saving the change as the default. The change is saved if I open another callout box in that same document but if I close the document or open a new one, the callout box properties revert to the old properties that I don't want. I am running Windows 7 if that makes any difference. If anyone has encoutnered this problem and has a solution, please advise. Thank you.

How do I send a PDF for review when I get an Email-based review error?

I am trying to send a PDF via email-based review and I am getting the following error message: "This file cannot be part of an initiated review because it contains comments from an active email-based review.  Please choose another."  I have renamed the file, saved it to a different location, etc. but I still get this error.  I get the same error with shared review.

I am using Acrobat X Professional.

To give background on the file, we make comments to the PDF, I send it to my agency who makes edits to the original InDesign file, creates a new PDF and sends to me for another round of review.  This is the second review and both times I have gotten this error message.  I send PDFs for review hundreds of times and never gotten this.

Can someone help?

Resizing Comment or Text Boxes in Acrobat X

Is anyone else having a problem finding corner "handles" when resizing text boxes or comment boxes in Acrobat X?

Whenever I need to resize a text or comment box I have to spend quite a bit of time hunting for just the right place to get the cursor to change into the resizing handle, and it's typically some distance away from the position of the actual corner (or side) of the box.

Is it everyone else, just Mac Acrobat X users, or just me?

How do you put markups into layers?

$

I work at a company where we use the redlining capability of Adobe Acrobat X Standard to mark up drawings (lines, arrows, text boxes, etc.).

Is there a way to put all of the redlines created into a layer?

Will the redlines in the layer still be editable?

Is there a way to then take that layer and export it to other PDFs?

If Adobe Acrobat X Standard can't do this are there any other Adobe programs that can do this? Are there any plug-ins that allow you to do this?
